What is the dress code for your Events?

The dress code for each event during the weekend can be found listed on the weekend itinerary and we’ve provided additional details below:

  • Welcome Party: Colorful Cocktail - we ask that guests avoid wearing the color red; please keep in mind this event will take place outdoors on natural ground.

  • Day at the Races: Festive Derby - think Kentucky Derby but not as formal.

  • Toast The Night Before: Casual Casino - come as you are!

  • Ceremony & Reception: Black Tie - we ask that all guests wear the color black, men wear a tuxedo and women wear a floor-length gown.

Are there any colors or styles you'd prefer me to wear?

We ask that all guests wear black to our ceremony and reception. Additionally, we request that guests avoid wearing the color red to the Welcome Party.

Will your Events be indoors or outdoors?

The Welcome Party will take place outdoors on natural grounds. All other events will be located indoors.

When do I need to RSVP by?

Please RSVP by mailing in your RSVP card included in the wedding invitation by March 15. If you need to change your RSVP, please contact us at cecileandevanlu@gmail.com.

What is the easiest way to get to and from your EVENTS?

We will have travel arranged for our guests for the following events, please see below for additional details.

  • Thurs, 4/24 - Welcome Party: Round-trip travel will be provided from The Waters Hotel and Oaklawn to/from The Reserve.

  • Friday, 4/25 - Day at the Races: Round-trip travel will be provided from The Waters Hotel to/from Oaklawn.

  • Sat, 4/26 - Ceremony & Reception: Transportation will be provided from The Waters Hotel and Oaklawn to the ceremony venue and to the reception venue following the ceremony. For those staying at Oaklawn, we will have transportation for you following the reception. Any guests who are staying at The Waters are able to cross the street from the reception venue to find themselves back at their hotel.

Is there parking available at any of the events?

We encourage all guests to leverage the provided transportation but parking is available at all event venues.

What will the weather be like?

Spring is one of the best times to visit Arkansas! We anticipate the weather to be mild and comfortable, with temperatures ranging from high 50s to low 80s Fahrenheit.

What accommodations are available for out-of-town guests?

We understand that a majority of our guests will be traveling from out of town to join us. To ensure your comfort, we've arranged room blocks at two nearby hotels. You can find more information on accommodations, including room blocks, on our website's Travel page. As for what option we recommend, that depends! If you want to be downtown in the historical district where you’re able to walk to restaurants and bars - we recommend The Waters. If you’re more interested in spending your time at the Casino or Spa, pick Oaklawn. Transportation to/from our events will be provided for guests staying at both hotels.

ARE CHILDREN INCLUDED?

While we adore all of your little ones, we've opted for an adults-only affair to allow everyone to relax and enjoy the celebration. We hope you understand our decision and can make arrangements for childcare.

Can I take pictures during the ceremony to post on social media?

While we love that you want to capture our special moments, we kindly request an unplugged ceremony to allow everyone to be fully present and immersed in the experience. Our professional photographers will be capturing all the highlights, and we'll share the photos with you afterwards.

Where can I find the photos afterwards?

We will plan to share all photos captured during our wedding weekend on our website. A link to the photos will be distributed via email after they are published.

What should I do if I have any allergies or dietary restrictions?

We ask that you notify us via your RSVP card, there is dedicated space to comment on any allergies or dietary restrictions but feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns.

Do you have a gift registry?

Yes! We have registered at three locations: Kuhl-Linscomb, Crate & Barrel and Amazon. You can find links to our registries here.

How will you communicate any updated information?
